OVERVIEW

 

Maxisoy+ is a starch free, low sugar versatile feeding solution for pleasure horses including those prone to laminitis and EMS.

 

A high proportion of soluble fibre means Maxisoy+ is more readily digested then the fibre found in forage, chaff and hay. This allows less to be fed on a weight for weight comparison for optimum horse condition to be achieved.

 

When soaked Maxisoy+ fluffs considerably creating bulky fill that encourages grazing behavior and slower eating.

 

Feed smaller amounts with more water added to overweight horses to assist keep them full longer whilst still loosing weight.

 

Feed in larger quantities for poor doers and weight gain.

 

LIGHT WORK (Western, English, Show, Dressage)

 

Horses in light work can generally meet their energy requirements with forage/fibre feeds alone. As as estimate horses in light work require 2% of their body weight in feed daily to maintain condition.

A forage/fibre diet will assist keep your horse calm and responsive as well as include the benefits of reduced occurrence of dietary related issues such as ulcers, laminitis and behavioral issues.

 

If additional energy is required it can be added in the form of starch (grain) or fats (oil).

 

Be careful to monitor the energy you are feeding as if fed in excess your horse will become fat verse fit!

MODERATE WORK (Jumping, Low Level Eventing)

 

Horses in moderate work can generally maintain condition on a diet comprised entirely of fibre or alternatively a mix of fibre, starch and fat can be fed.

 

Monitor condition closely to ensure adequate calories are provided and if weight is not being maintained increase the calories being fed. Calories can be obtained from fibre, starch and fat.

 

As an estimate horses in moderate work require 2.5% of their body weight in feed daily to maintain condition.

HEAVY WORK (Endurance, Eventing, Polo)

 

Horses in heavy work generally require a diet comprised of quality high calorie fibre, starch and fat to maintain condition and performance.

 

Feeding high calorie fibre can reduce the amount of starch and fat required for optimum conditioning to assist minimise the effects a high starch diet can have on horses including ulcers, laminitis, and behavioral issues.

 

Horses in heavy work can require up to 3% of their body weight in feed daily to maintain condition.

Horses in heavy work generally have higher demands for electrolytes and other feed supplements. It is suggested a salt lick be provided in paddocks for free access.

FEEDING MAXISOY+

 

Mix 5 parts water to 1 part Maxisoy+ by weight (this equates to 1 dipper Maxisoy + 2 dippers of water by volume)

 

Use hot water for immediate absorption or allow 5 minutes for cold water absorption.

 

Once soaked Maxisoy+ is ready to be mixed with other feed ingredients (alternatively mix all feeds together and then add water).

 

Soaked Maxisoy+ can be stored in a cool environment for up to 24 hours prior to feeding.

 

Maxisoy+ is recommended to be fed wet however can also be included in your feed mixes as a dry pellet.

 

All new feeds should be introduced gradually into your horses diet.
